Outside Portraits

I am so excited that it is warming up.  I had about enough of winter and am enjoying the warmer weather.  We have all our windows open today and the fresh air is wonderful.  It is also time to start thinking about getting some portraits done outside as well.  Whether it is just the kids or the entire family we can get some great outside portraits and enjoy the weather as well.

Hanging with the Nephews

So I am going to try to post new photos every week even if it means I go back and bring up some older ones.  This weekend is the first in the last month that we have not traveled to Huntley where my brother-in-law and his family lives.  We have visited them for various reasons and I have taken my camera each time.  I just wanted to show you how you don't have to be on a backdrop or posed to get great and fun shots with the kids.

I have always loved babies and they can be fun to take portraits of too.  Here are a few images from a recent infant session.

Blanket shots are one of my faves. They are cute when they are little on their tummy and when they are bigger sitting up.

Just because it is cold doesn't mean you can't still get great outdoor shots, it just means you have to be quick.  Here are images from a winter shoot I did this morning in about 20 mins.

So I am creating this new blog to share some of my thoughts on photography and share some of my photos as well.  I did my senior art show in college on portraits of children and some background that went with the photos and I always like being able to tell people where I am coming from and what I am working on.  If you ever have any questions you can always contact me.
